1.Prologue
I am not a danseuse but a dance,
I am not a singer but a song,
I am not a poetess but a poem,
I am not an artiste but an art!
2. Mudras
Let me dance, dance and dance!
Like the bird that flies
In the boundless skies,
Higher and higher- farther and farther
Up the wide, blue horizon!
3. The Sophisticated Mudras
Dance to the tune of Nature
In alignment with its character,
Fearless and firm,
Faithful and friendly,
Holding the sophisticated ‘Mudras'
So attractive, So beautiful.
My head held high in dignity and poise,
In absolute joy with a deep sense of gratitude.
4. The Sweet Soul Within
When you dance,
Dance not for your body alone,
Dance for your sweet soul within.
5.Dance Like a Happy Spirit
Dance like a Bird
With coloured feathers of imagination,
Dance like a butterfly
With fascinating wings of jubilation,
Dance like a flower
With petals of mesmerizing luminescence,
Dance like a happy spirit,
With unending joy of rhythmic extravagance.
6. Dance like a Sunbird
I wish I was a small Sunbird,
Dancing my way through bowers, trees, hills,
Where the breeze caresses the dancing birds,
Dainty steps, rhythmic beats, of charming gestures.
Whistling through flower beds of pretty hues,
Beneath the dynamic sun God's golden eyelids,
Warmly embracing the graceful dancer with glee!
